Hardware

Open centers. Hardware adds corner supports. Ballast requires a closed floor.

Pegboard mounting

Notes

Two rows is the default. One row uses hooks with a 12.7 mm lip below their centers. Taller mounts use top hooks, bottom locking hoops and bearing pegs between; gussets extend to the bottom of the backplate.

Round-hole peg fit
Notes

Zero keeps the current pegs. Adjust in 0.05 mm steps; the board grid stays at 25.4 mm.

Positive makes the crush ribs narrower for an easier fit. Negative makes them tighter. The bearing surfaces stay put.

Positive grips the board more snugly; negative gives it more room.

Positive thickens the hoop's flexing wall for a firmer snap. Negative makes it easier to flex.

Tuning
Notes

0° is level, +5° tilts upward, −30° tilts downward. Pegs remain aligned with the board.

Start at zero. Increase this for a looser fit; decrease it for a tighter fit.

Save parameters

Up to 32 cells per direction, 64 cells total. Large arrays can take several minutes; Cancel stops the calculation. Mounts follow the selected board grid. The backplate ends flush with the frame. Gussets follow each Gridfinity cell boundary and meet the front beam, independently of the peg columns. Outer mounts remain inside the frame. The backplate is 5.4 mm thick at the connector roots.

Generated geometry

Print bed and width search
Preview print bed

X × Y, with the origin at the front-left corner. Fit to bed checks the actual outline for a useful rotation, and keeps that mode when dimensions change—even if the model still exceeds the bed. The 3MF uses the shown placement; STL and STEP keep their local frame-down coordinates. Choose the same bed in your slicer.

Checks the selected depth, board and bed, including diagonal placement.

Export and reinforcement notes

Browser-based compute and render. Geometry is generated on your device; large arrays can take longer.

Reinforcement covers the full peg and backplate thickness and continues into the shelf frame, with a 3.5 mm margin beyond each peg/root envelope. STEP includes separate named solids; set the helper bodies to modifiers at 100% infill. The 3MF already sets those modifiers to 100%. These are overlapping regions of the same part, not extra parts to print.

Instructions, reference and examples

100% infill regions

Teal shelf beside orange full-thickness peg and frame modifier regions
The orange regions cover the pegs and continue through the backplate into the frame. They overlap the printable body; the 3MF uses them as 100% infill modifiers.

SKÅDIS mounts

Actual shelf with staggered retaining tails and separate orange two-slot fit coupon
SKÅDIS shelf and coupon, modeled from reference dimensions and not print tested. The retaining tails drop behind the board. SKÅDIS hooks need supports under their ledges in the supplied frame-down pose.

Round and square-hole boards

Actual US small-hole, US large-hole, Wall Control and Bott Perfo coupons with different pin and grip dimensions
Separate presets for actual hole size, panel thickness and mounting pitch. These reference-based models are not print tested. The Bott preset uses our L-hooks in the square openings.

The US small and large presets start with 3/16 in and 9/32 in holes on a 1 in grid. Wall Control uses its round holes. The metric preset uses 6 mm holes on a 25 mm grid; Bott Perfo uses 9.2 mm square holes on a 38.1 mm grid. Measure your panel thickness independently of the hole size.

Multiboard and HSW inserts

Actual shelf and screw-fit coupon with M3 head recesses
M3 screw mounts reuse separate Multiboard nut snaps or HSW inserts. The new shelf and coupon models are not print tested; the board inserts are downloaded separately.

Select Multiboard for its 25 mm grid, or HSW for 23.6 mm vertical spacing with mounting columns aligned to alternate hex columns. The form links to the required inserts. Fit controls adjust screw clearance, head clearance and recess depth.

Backplate and Gridfinity-aligned gussets

Actual two-row shelf with solid backplate and cell-boundary gussets
Solid backplate shown with cell-boundary gussets. Peg columns stay on the board grid; the backplate transfers load between the two layouts.

Tilted shelves

Actual one-row and four-row mounts at minus thirty and plus five degrees
+5° upward and −30° downward examples. The flat board-contact faces and peg interfaces remain vertical. The seat height adjusts to preserve root material and inverted bed clearance.

Printing and fit

Small backplate with an upper hook and lower locking hoop one inch apart
The peg-pair coupon uses your selected fit settings. Print this small part first, then keep the same numbers for your shelf.

The small fit ring lets you dial in bin clearance without printing a whole shelf. Adjust the seat clearance until your bin drops in and lifts out easily.

Print with the flat frame face on the bed—the STL is already oriented that way. For the original round-hole system, one-row mounts use hooks and taller mounts add locking hoops below them. SKÅDIS uses drop-in retaining tails at every mount; support their ledges in this orientation. Use a taller backplate and thicker gussets for deeper shelves.

The earlier 1×1 and 2×1 ASA slices used 0.6 mm nozzle, 0.20 mm layers, three walls, 20% rectilinear, 12 mm³/s and 5,000 mm/s² acceleration, without brim or supports. Those slices predate the solid backplate and mounting-height options. Re-slice all newly generated shelves and inspect the result.

Editable CAD and source

The weighted base is available in browser STL, faceted STEP and 3MF exports. The native FreeCAD source supports the frame base only.

FreeCAD generator source with peg-fit controls for the original round-hole system exports native STEP, FCStd and STL with root-wall, connector-preservation and reference-foot checks. Save the parameters above and pass them with --config recipe.json.

The browser generator combines the exported connector meshes with parameterized seat and support solids. It checks connected-solid output, front-beam continuity, reference bin-foot clearance and retained board-side geometry before enabling downloads.

Gridfinity receiver dimensions follow Gridfinity Rebuilt. Peg geometry comes from the current peg repository. Sources and asset hashes.
